Winning Justice for Home care workers ACROSS PA.

It’s time to unite to build a home care system that treats workers and consumers with the respect they deserve.

Who
we are

United Home Care Workers of Pennsylvania is the largest union of home care workers in Pennsylvania. We are uniting thousands of caregivers all across the Commonwealth to make sure home care workers are paid a living wage, get benefits, paid time off, and training.

Recent wins, like the $21 million state budget investment that is raising wages and adding paid time off for participant-directed workers, shows that
change is possible when people come together.

Why we care

Home care workers and consumers are organizing because the system they rely on is underfunded, unstable, and out of step with the growing demand for care. As Pennsylvania’s population ages and chronic illness rises, the need for high-quality home care continues to increase, yet workers are too often left behind.

That’s why home care workers and consumers across Pennsylvania are joining together in the United Home Care Workers of Pennsylvania to raise up home care!

Together,
we can build a home care system that works for us all.

“If you agree that the care you provide matters, and you as a caregiver are worth more, it’s time to get off the sidelines and demand quality care and quality jobs for all.”

“Participant-directed services have allowed me to live my life the way I want. I have the freedom to make my own schedule and to direct my own care. My caregivers care for me in deeply personal ways. I want their lives to be better.”
